Queen's Jubilee Celebration at Ealing
London Area 6D Community Ministries celebrated the Queen's Jubilee on Sabbath 8 June 2019 in Ealing.
The Willesden Pathfinder Drum Corps crowned the occasion along with the Hanwell Pathfinders and Adventurers. They confidently marched on the highways and streets of Ealing admired by the spectators from the starting point through Uxbridge Road, to the end at Hanwell Adventist church on Greenford Avenue. Pastor Berhanu Tsehaye (for Hanwell, Southall and Central London Ethiopian Seventh-day Adventist churches) who took the front line in the march has good collaboration with the Ealing police constables who watched over the public order and safety of the young people while marching. The mayor of Ealing Cllr Dr Abdullah Gulaid was in attendance, the British Red Cross public standard first aiders Graham and Harriet attended the march and also were well pleased and expressed their appreciation and thorough enjoyment of the occasion.
The Mayor Cllr Dr Abdullah Gulaid (the first African mayor ever in the history of Ealing elected on 17 May 2019) soon joined the celebration accompanied by Cllr Dr Shahabaz. Both Pastor Kwesi Moore (the president London Area 6D churches) and Pastor Berhanu were joined by Hanwell church elder Dukal Daley in welcoming these important guests. Pastor Berhanu offered a special prayer for the life and service of Her Majesty the Queen of England.
The mayor's message to the church emphasised that the church should create an environment where young people (primary and not exclusively) of African and Caribbean descent will appreciate each other's cultures and traditions and develop a true sense of pride in themselves.
Both the Mayor Cllr Dr Abdullah Gulaid and Cllr Dr Shahabaz visited the Community Health Screening in the church hall organised by Racheal Brown, Hanwell Health Ministries coordinator. The mayor encouraged such practical ministry to the community. Pastor Berhanu gave a brief presentation of the church's building plans and the pressing need for building better facilities to meet the needs of the local community.
This Queen's Jubilee event would not have happened without facilitating the permissions we needed and the support from so many people.
