Investiture at Yeovil Somerset

On Sabbath 18 May, Yeovil Seventh-day Adventist church celebrated the Investiture of Golden Eagles Pathfinders and Adventurers, which consists of Yeovil, Dorchester, Chard and Taunton churches.

Almost 70 children in total were invested on that day where most of them completed a variety of activities over 8 months.

The afternoon was full of excitement for the children and for the parents witnessing what their children have been doing through the last 8 months. All Pathfinders and Adventurers started with their march down to the hall, followed by a welcome and introduction by Pastor Deyvid Batista and Grace Attwood. They then did their Pledge, Law and Songs of both Pathfinders and Adventurers. All the participants offered a special song called 'A gift to you'.

Our guest speaker for the day was Mrs Pam Catchpole, who also explained the different meanings of foundation candles that the members lit up. Here are the different colour candles and their meanings:

Friend (blue) learn skills that will help them be better neighbours now and friends of God throughout eternity.

Companion (red) explore ways to build a more meaningful and fulfilling companionship with Jesus Christ every hour of the day.

Explorer (green) adventure into God's Word and His created works.

Ranger (grey) open up new areas of discovery in the natural and spiritual world to secure true and genuine happiness.

Voyager (burgundy) acquire a wholesome self-concept and Christian lifestyle by studying their personal physical, mental, cultural, and spiritual development.

Guide (yellow) grow in knowledge about the Spirit of Prophecy as they discover their place as leaders in society.

All awards and gifts were presented to the current and new members of Adventurers and Pathfinders. It was a great blessing and pleasant afternoon to see all the church members, family, friends and all those of the club from different churches.

We ask everyone to please continue to pray for our church here in Yeovil especially for our Adventurer and Pathfinder Club.
