Chesham Witness Where People Are
Chesham is a church plant in the leafy Buckinghamshire situated in the rolling hills of the Chilterns. Breaking into the community with the Adventist message has always been a challenge for Chesham church plant. Health expos, drop-ins for a chat & a cuppa were some of the methods used in the past.
This week, Wednesday the 5th of June, the plant got permission to place a table at the entrance of the local library to display health literature. The library is visited by over six thousand people each month. Derek Evans who made the initial contact with the library, Ann-Marie and Pastor Chackochen manned the table talking to people coming into the library. Many stopped and chatted about health and accepted the literature on offer. As a result of ensuing conversations, three people promised to visit us on Sabbath at church.
The librarian is glad for us to continue using the library to display health literature. We hope that this would provide an opportunity to break into the community with the Advent message.
