Advent Carols on the Streets of North Wembley

For the second year in succession the North Wembley Community Adventist church took to the street just outside the church building where the entrance is immediately located (Sudbury Avenue) to sing Christmas carols and engage with the community.

Directed by worship leader Joel Noel, we sang traditional carol favourites such as Silent Night, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Joy to the World, The First Noel and Little Drummer Boy to name a few.

Neighbours and those passing by stopped to wish us a Merry Christmas and others came out to give us Christmas cards and presents.

One young lady gave us a wrapped box of chocolates explaining that as she heard the singing in her home she had been reminded of her family and thanked us for making her evening.

Following the singing we went back to the front of the church where seasonally wrapped books, cards, warmed mulled wine and mince pies were offered to the community.

Local minister Pastor Mingo, who accompanied the group and occasionally joined in the singers with his mouth organ, closed the evening with prayer.
